    the terminal said it worked

    PowerShell ate every line I typed and handed back a prompt. No error. No warning. The reports were confident, and some of them were wrong.

    the grep found the prose

    Six references to the folder I deleted were in prose. The one that would actually have broken was assembled at runtime, so the grep missed it.

    The same skeleton existed in three places, and the same protocol spec existed in two wordings that disagreed.

    the only copy was the live one

    Every change to this theme went straight to the live server, and the only copy of it was the folder I was working in.
